Latest Update on 4rth March 2022: Petition in Delhi High Court Challenging KVSAdmission Criteria for Class 1
A petition has been filed in Delhi High Court challenging KVS Admission Criteria 2022-23 Class 1 laying down the minimum age of a child to 6 years instead of 5 years. It has been said in the petition that before the academic year 2022-23, the minimum age of admission for class 1 in the respondent KVS was 5 years old.
The petitioner has filed through her father Pawan Kumar that he will be 5 years old at 31 March 2022. She desired that he would apply the KVS Online application form for admission in class 1 in respondent KVS in academic session 2022-23. But in the KVS Admission Guidelines issued on 24th February, respondent KVS has suddenly changed the minimum age criteria of admission in class 1 from 5 years to 6 years. The admission process has started before 4 days only. It has not disturbed the status quo.
KVS Admission Guideline 2022-23: KVS Admission Guideline 2022-23 has released on 24th February 2022 and online registration process for admission class-1 has also started from today i.e. 28th February 2022 at 10.00 AM. After that many parents are opposing to KVS Admission Guideline 2022-23. While the KVS online registration process of KVS admission class-1 has started, the parent association is thinking of going to court regarding the change in the age limit for admission in class-1.
As per KVS Admission Guideline 2022-23, Under NEP (National Education Policy) 2020, KVS has increased minimum age for admission in class 1 from academic year 2022-23. Now the child’s age to be admitted in class 1 has to be 6 to 8 years instead of 5 to 7 years. The association is not happy with the increase in the age limit. Parents are preparing to go to court regarding this.
KVS Admission 2022-23| Age Criteria {New}
All parents/ applicants check new age criteria as per KVS Admission 2022-23 Guideline which is mentioned below table. Reckoning of age for all Classes shall be as on 31.03.2022 for academic session 2022-23.

KVS Admission 2022-23 | AIPA Said
As per hindi.news18.com, Parents are saying that due to the change in the rules for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission in class-1 as age limit, many children will be out from Admission. President of All India Parents Association (AIPA) and Advocate Ashok Aggarwal said that required age limit for children who are going to admission in Class I in Kendriya Vidyalayas has been increased by one year.

After increasing, the minimum age limit is 6 years. Earlier this age limit was 5 years. In such a situation, children who are not yet 6 years old cannot register for admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya class-1 this year. Parents say that for admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), the age limit which was earlier should remain the same.

As per KVS Admission Schedule 2022-23, online registration has started from 28th February 2022 and the last date of registration for class 1 admission is 21st march 2022. First provisional list of KVS Admission will be issued on 25th March 2022 and Second list will be released on 1st April 2022. KVS Admission 3rd Provisional List will be published on 8th April 2022.
